Wimbledon - Last woman standing

Before the semi-finals commenced yesterday, I figured that the last women standing would be Simona Halep and Petra Kvitova.

With Simona Halep's incredible form and mental fortitude I couldn't see Genie getting past her easily. I figured that it would be Simona in three closely contested sets. Glad at this point I am not a gambler. :)

#GenieArmie, I gotta congratulate you all. What a phenomenal display of power hitting and with only the slightest of blips whilst serving out the match... nerveless tennis from Eugenie Bouchard... it's hard not to like this classy Canadian.

And with the added bonus of having Jim Parsons, a la Sheldon Cooper in her player's box... what a better way to make it through to her first Grand Slam final.

Without jinxing anything, I have a feeling that the coveted Venus Rosewater Dish will be firmly in Eugenie's hands.

Talk about bridging the Junior - Pro Tour success gap in double quick time, Eugenie has done the meteoric rise and currently the only woman on the WTA that has made the Semi-finals at each Grand Slam this year.

Junior Wimbledon champ to Wimbledon Ladies Singles champ, in, dare I say it, 2 years.

What's gonna happen with the men... old guard vs the young pretenders, who'll remain to contend for the Gold Cup with the Pineapple on top?

What are your thoughts on the men, lets chat.

Cxx
